Knoxville holds many unique and affordable places to eat out over the weekend. Have your pick of top-notch restaurants that are perfect for anyone’s taste buds, even kids.

Below are some ways you can have a fun and relaxing weekend. Use the list to find the best options for your affordable weekend in Knoxville.

Start your Saturday off right with a great breakfast

Who doesn’t love breakfast food, am I right?! Olibea, located in downtown Knoxville, opens only for breakfast. It serves breakfast classics, but often with a twist. Think anything from lemon pancakes to eggs benedict served on biscuits for a Tennessee twist. Make sure to get to Olibea early (it opens at 8 AM) because seating is limited and the restaurant gets crowded fast! If you want a slower start, head to First Watch (there are three locations in Knoxville) for a tasty breakfast menu sure to have everyone’s favorites.

Explore Saturdays in Market Square

After breakfast, head to Market Square to explore the farmer’s market (May-November). Vendors sell everything from fresh produce to beautiful flowers or handmade jewelry. Walking around Market Square is a great way to browse unique, local items, as well as people-watch. For lunch, grab something to eat from one of the food trucks at the farmer’s market. Or, head over to one of the many great lunch spots downtown. A favorite is Coolato Gelato on Gay Street for a panini and some sweet gelato. Or try The French Market Crêperie on Clinch Avenue for a large selection of sweet and savory crêpes.

Saturday night is pizza night

For dinner, head downtown to A Dopo Pizza for unique sourdough pizza. Try a pizza with a red or white base and creative toppings. To top off the night, try one of A Dopo’s house made gelatos with new flavors made every day. A Dopo’s laid back style is great for the whole family. For those who want a unique farm-to-table experience, head over to Blue Coast Grill & Bar in Market Square. Here, award-winning chef, Curtis Bates serves up delicious takes on American favorites.

Kickstart your Sunday morning with some time outdoors

Get outdoors to start off your Sunday morning! Head to one of Knoxville’s many greenways or outdoor spaces to start off your day with some exercise. IJAMS Nature Center has something for the whole family. Think walking trails, a rock quarry to boat or climb, and a fun kid exhibit! Another great outdoor option is Lakeshore Park. This is a great place to walk with beautiful views of the Tennessee River. It also has an outdoor playground perfect for kids.

Keep it fresh for lunch

A great way to end your morning outdoors is to bring lunch for a picnic. Or, head on over to The Farmacy (on Northshore Drive) for farm-fresh Southern food. Brunch is available until 3 PM on weekends. Whole Foods is another great option for the whole family. Its many options (think buffet, pizza, sandwiches, bakery, etc.) have something everyone will enjoy.

Enjoy fun and games with the whole family

To continue your time outside, head over to Putt-Putt Golf & Games for some fun the whole family will enjoy! Whether playing with one or two others, or an entire family, Putt-Putt’s mini-golf course is sure to be a blast for all ages. Inside, there is an arcade with games, access to a batting cage, and more. Putt-Putt is sure not to disappoint.

Relax with a great cup of coffee

For all the coffee drinkers out there, head on over to Honeybee Coffee on Kingston Pike for a great cup of coffee. Honeybee is a great spot to enjoy a coffee in a relaxing setting. There is great indoor and outdoor seating. Other great options are Vienna Coffee House and Wild Love Bakehouse, both serving up great coffee and unique food options for the perfect afternoon snack.

Knoxville is the perfect place to plan your exciting weekend. There are many fun and affordable activities and restaurants to choose from that everyone will enjoy. Here’s to enjoying your weekend.
